A crow has fallen in the clover, her head tucked in shade and her still chest shimmering. I am awed, I forget myself, I am her wing, the wind rustles me.
I am a painter, devoted to the amazing happenings of each day. My work celebrates the present and awakens what has passed, retrieving imagery from memory, dream, and nature. Wondering how thought and vision meet, I interweave image and the written word. My paintings appear transitory to propose that consciousness is unstable or subject to decay; the present is brief and the past ambiguous. I paint myself into and out of open-ended questions with a trust in the inventive possibilities of making, finding momentum in layers of error and repair. I create out of admiration for the creativity of nature and hope to share my wonderment with others. Painting gifts me curiosity, teaches me attention, and accompanies me always.
I live in Athens, Georgia, where I study Painting and Drawing at UGA’s Lamar Dodd School of Art. I plan to graduate with a BFA in 2026.
